FAQs

How do professionals clean their paint brushes?

The best way to clean your paint brushes is to pour the solvent or soap into a container and dip your brushes or painting tools into the liquid. Dunk the paint brush up and down multiple times before running it under water, making sure the paint is removed from the bristles and the water runs clear. Allow your brush to dry completely before your next painting project.

How do you get rid of hard paint off a paint brush?

Our range of paint brush cleaners at Art to Art are able to remove any hardened paint of your art tools, including acrylic paint, oil based paint, water based paint, varnish and more. To remove stubborn paint, we recommend leaving your brush in the solvent for a few minutes and then to swirl and move your brush back and forth to release the paint from the bristles. Once all the paint is gone, run your brushes under water to remove any excess solvent. We also offer a product called Incredible Brush cleaner which can remove dried oil or acrylic paint thats years old!

What do artists use to clean oil paint brushes?

We recommend using a high-quality solvent to remove oil paint from your brushes. Our solvents are very effective and don’t contain the toxic properties of most solvents. We do advise cleaning your brushes in a well ventilated area, for extra precautions.

What do artists use to clean acrylic paint brushes?
