Gamblin Gamvar Varnish Satin

Developed in collaboration with the National Gallery of Art, Gamblin's Gamvar Satin Picture Varnish saturates the colours in your oil paintings and gives your work a unified, satin finish protective surface. Gamvar Satin is virtually odourless, it goes on and remains water-clear and can be safely removed with Gamsol Mineral Spirits. This superior quality satin picture varnish dries to a lower gloss level compared to original Gamvar and enhances the depth of colour in your paintings. Gamvar may be brush applied when the painting is dry to the touch and firm in its thickest areas. For some oil paintings, that might take two weeks, for others, 2 months. To check if it’s dry, gently press your nail into the thickest part of your painting.
